Description
Welcome to the “Beginning Jazz Improvisation” Course!
What will you be learning in this course?
You will learn how to form and recognise basic chord structures and will be able to improvise over them. You’ll also learn how to compose many of your own “blues” compositions with very little material. At the end of this course, you’ll be on your way to learning how to tackle jazz standards confidently. Unlike many courses and books on jazz improvisation, I will NOT be drowning you in tons of music theory and scales at the onslaught of the course. That only intimidates the learner and causes them to give up before they really even started. In fact, you won’t need to know much to get started! We’ll be going through the basics step by step and learning to hear, and in that way, understand what you’re learning before you move on. I’ll be providing PDFs of the exercises, plus MP3 recordings to play-along with in each lesson. So, if you think that improvising jazz is a “book with 7 seals”, join in on this course and discover how easy it is to start learning how to improvise!
See you inside!
Best regards,
Evan Tate, your instructor.
